This was a paper sculpture I created in 2009 using white card and a floor lamp. The aim of the project was to create a back lit paper sculpture of a cityscape, playing with distorted perspective, artistic style and incredible levels of detail.
For the back lighting to work, we experimented with different paper stocks to get the best result. Windows were cut out of every building to let the lamp light through the entire sculpture, giving the city life.
